Mickey Hawes, VAS CEO, on committee for AVA cerification exam

Because of her expertise in the field of vascular access, M. L. Hawes, RN, MSN, CRNI has been requested to participate on the committee for certification exam item writing at a meeting in Denver, CO on June 3-6 along with other distinguished Association for Vascular Access members.

Andrea Owens awarded INS Gardner Foundation Scholarship

Vascular Access Specialists is proud to annouce that Andrea Owens, Chief Operations Officer, is the recipient of a 2010 Gardner Foundation Sharing Expertise Scholarship for CRNI Certification.  Andrea was selected after submitting an essay to the Foundation outlining her plan to use the CRNI designation/education to improve infusion therapy and patient care in her practice area.  The $1,000 scholarship will be presented at the Gardner Foundation/INCC Reception, May 17, 2010, to be held in conjuction with the 2010 INS Annual Meeting and Industrial Exhibition.

On October 23-24, M. L. Hawes, RN, MSN, CRNI attended an advisory board meeting sponsored by Ethicon, a division of Johnson & Johnson in Dallas, Texas.

On October 8th, M. L. Hawes, RN, MSN, CRNI presented Central Venous Catheter Management; Improving outcomes for Patients with Central Lines in cooperation with Genentech, for the 2009 MWONC in West Lafayette, IN.

On May 20th, M. L. Hawes, RN, MSN, CRNI presented Healthcare Associated Infections: Using Evidence - Based Research to Prevent Infections in all Healthcare Settings for the 2009 INS Annual Meeting in Nashville, TN.

Mickey Hawes, VAS CEO Spoke At AVIR Annual Scientific Meeting in San Diego, CA.

On March 7th, M. L. Hawes, RN, MSN, CRNI Spoke at The Association of Vascular & Interventional Radiographers (AVIR) 17th Annual Scientific Meeting covering four specific topics through PICC workshops.

Vascular Access Specialists is pleased to announce that it has won the Innovative Business of the Year award at the Fuse Business Innovation Awards.

Presented by the Small Business Development Center and inVenture, this honor is awarded annually to a science or technology business that has changed an industry or impacted consumers’ lives in a significant way. The winning company must be at least two years old and have fewer than 50 employees.
